The following services are provided to students at ISS.
Orientation
An orientation program is conducted at the commencement of each semester. The program is an essential part of the enrolment process and designed to help students familiarise themselves with ISS, its facilities, and the subjects they are to study. Students are also introduced to ISS staff and the student mentors at orientation.
Counselling
ISS has appointed a Student Academic and Welfare Advisor (Resident Lecturer and Senior Lecturer) to assist students in settling into their new environment, and to provide academic support. The Student Academic and Welfare Advisor is also available to liaise with student’s parents as required. ISS runs a mentor program to assist new students and help students settle into academic life, information and advice on educational opportunities in both ISS and other renowned institutions locally and internationally.
Sporting and Social Activities
ISS have access to a nearby local school’s sporting grounds where they can play soccer, volleyball, and Basketball. A student social club and Christian fellowship group have been developed with assistance from the Resident Lecturers.
Library
Our students utilise the University of Zambia library on our institutional membership. This is the biggest library in Zambia .
Study Support
Various workshops are organised including study skills, time management, computer familiarisation courses, and examination preparation.
Bookshop Services
Extra reference books and stationary are available at the local bookshops, situated in the city, at Manda Hill or Arcades Shopping Centre.
